Just this type of drive has been installed on the new Wooden Boat 40, a luxury and interesting boat measuring thirteen meters the shipyard has just finished to desing. The boat adopts a gliding hull with a narrow deadrise to give the best trimming qualities also in case of rough sea: realized in marine wood and composite material, the hull and the deck are designed to ensure stiffness and structure solidity and, at the same time, a great lightness. The studio could realize a boat with the same easy maintenance as fiberglass and the elegance and versatility of wood thanks to the use of cutting-edge technologies in the naval field, including vacuum technique, the use of marine ply-woods matching Kevlar and carbon and a large use of structure adhesives. The boat has a very original design, a mix between classic and modern lines, with an agile bowpost, practically vertical, and long broadsides, low on the water, with the aft sloping down towards the water. The central console, protected by a light metal and fabric hard-top is the only style element rising from the broadside profile, while bow and aft are completely equipped with sofas and sundeck. In fact, Wooden Boat 40 is a boat where you can enjoy the sea and the sun. The central console houses a control station and the entrance to the rooms under deck: the first is modern, with three risen seats in forward gear, risen in comparison to the floor and offers a very good view of overall dimensions, making boating and manoeuvring operations easier. The entrance to interiors is easy and safe also when navigating: under deck there are wide and well lit area that can be furnished according to the owner’s taste, with many possibilities of customization. One of the solutions includes the position of a double berth cabin and a separate head unit, fitted with a toilet, wash-basin and shower. The galley instead is placed outside, in our opinion it is a clever choice, to avoid nasty smell and an undesirable heat in the sleeping area. The galley is behind the three outside seats for the pilot and the co-pilots, near the outside dining room. Noiseless, eco-compatibility and very good performances are the basic elements to choose engine and drives. The engine option includes two Yanmar Turbodiesel powered with 380 horses, reliable propellers and synthesis of cutting-edge technologies. The maximum power got with 380 horses is given at only 3,300 revolutions to ensure noiseless and a low stress to the whole thermic part. Arnaboldi studio has equipped the boat with these propellers and 292 series Hamilton two hydrojets, so that the boat (weighing over eight tons and a half when unloaded) can reach a maximum speed of 40 knots and a cruise velocity of 35 knots at reduced consumption.
