Just a few apparitions were sufficient to immediately conquer both the audience and the trade press. On the other hand, Austin Parker can boast a certain experience in building lobster boats: at the end of the nineties, the shipyard based at Rosignano Marittimo stood out among the first in Italy for the production of these charming boats with an unmistakable retro style.
At present Austin Parker has launched a range of boats starting from an innovative 42 foot open, described in this service, to go on with an imposing 52 open to which two luxury flybridges of 62 and 72 feet. The common denominator for all models are the high standards both as to finishes and marine qualities. Planned by one of the most famous nautical designers like Fulvio De Simoni, AP42 Open makes a fine show of a highly featuring style. Therefore, she is the ideal boat for those who are looking for a really exclusive hull, but she is also
able to give exciting performances in complete safety and stability thanks to the skill work of engineer Antonio Ricciarini who looked after the lines of the quickwork and designed a thin “V”-shaped hull. Equipped with two Yanmar engines powered with 480 horses shaft drive or with IPS, she can read a top speed of 35 knots and a cruise one of 30, with 12 people on board. Thanks to her performances, AP42 belongs not only to the lobster category but also to the category of luxury tenders or day cruisers. Also the length of 12.60 meters represents a very good compromise of comfortable spaces and practical running. The outside lines are well balanced, with characteristics following the American tradition. A safe perimeter walkway allows to easily move from one point to another of the boat, while the bow, completely clear, may be used as a sundeck. The large glass surfaces featuring the central hard top censure a very good luminosity to the interiors. The aft platform is spacious so to easily go into and come out from the water but also to enjoy boating from a privileged position. The hard top creates a comfortable living room, furnished with taste and great accuracy. The control station, fitted with a modern and functional dashboard, is placed to starboard. To portboard there is an “L”-shaped sofa served with a central table. The galley is placed in a luxury white piece of furniture on starboard broadside: an ideal position to serve both the internal dinette and the cockpit. As you can expect from a boat of this type, all floorings are made with teak staves. Moreover Austin Parker offers the owner the possibility to customize his boat choosing among different tones of the upperwork. Even if outside the boat shows a typically retro look, her interiors stand out for being so modern and for the great care paid to details. The furniture of the open space suite is in no way inferior to the one of a super yacht. Noteworthy the lack of evident counter-mouldings, only precious wood finished with open-pore water-based paints for the walls and brushed with long chamfered staves for the floor.
All fabrics are made of first-rate linen while sofas are covered with full-grain leather precious mat lacquering embellish the ceilings of the bathroom. The bow large owner’s double berth cabin is well lit and served with wardrobes and cabinets while the toilette head unit is just a few steps away. The portboard bulkhead houses a nice and functional dinette, that can be converted in a few seconds into a second double berth so that sleeping accommodations are brought to four. Great care has been paid to each detail: the interiors are among the most harmonious we have ever seen. AP42 completes her identity card with surprising performances ensuring safety and stability and puts her beyond lobster category.
